HAR MEE and ABC @ Air Panas

Hubby was not feeling well...stomach upset, no appetite to eat so I go for lunch myself. It has been a very long time I 've never been to this Air Panas Market for food. I used to eat there during my school days. I was surprised some of the stalls have new owners or passed down to next generation to run the business. As a half Penang 'lang' myself, I always like to eat Hokkien Mee but these days as age is catching up , I seldom eat. But today is exception. This stall is among all the eating stalls in Air Panas, next to the football field called Ta Shu Tao means The Big Tree. I remember last time was run by the mother but now the daughters take over...I think, because the girls look like the mother.

This Hokkien Mee is not bad. The soup is clear but tasty and although the prawn is not big but overall the meal is satisfying. It costs RM3.80 for a small bowl.

Knowing I could not eat this, I take away this ABC (Ais Batu Kacang) back to office. This ABC stall is just opposite of the Hokkien Mee stall. I requested the lady to add some santan to the ABC because I feel like eating BoBo ChaCha and Chendol, so I mix everything together and it turned out not bad. This ABC cost RM2.90.

DUCK KING @ JAYA ONE, PJ

Last weekend, my family went to this newly opened restaurant in Jaya One in PJ. At first we could not find the place then we asked the security guard and he showed us the way.

The side view of the restaurant.

These were what we ordered : Lala in soya bean paste, not very good as I find it too starchy but the Lala was fresh though.

This is Salted egg yolk fried with Prawn, I find it too rich for me but my family likes it, go well with rice.

This is their main dish Roasted Duck, very tasty and quite salty if eaten without rice. This is very good! My husband likes it.

They do serve white rice or sinfully tasty rice with lard. I still can remember in old days, my grandmother always keeps a small pot of lard in the cabinet (the old type cabinet with see-thru iron mesh) and whenever we find the dishes not up to our taste, we will eat white rice stir with lard, soya sauce and an egg...........it's so delicious and unhealthy!!!

Stir-fry brocolli with crab meat sauce...........this is good!

This is Sotong fried with Petai and Sambal Asam. In fact , all the dishes we ordered go well with rice.
We enjoyed our meals and my husband said that he would come back again to try the roast pork (his favourite) as it was sold out that day! Total bill was RM144 inclusive of Chinese Tea for 4.

ZAKURO JAPANESE RESTAURANT-MONT KIARA

It has been quite some time, we have not been out for quiet dinner together just the two of us, so my husband suggested this place which we eat quite often once upon a time. Another reason is both of us are Jap Food lovers. This Zakuro Japanese Restaurant is located in Mont Kiara, behind Mc Donald.

Green tea and taugeh appetiser :

Miso Soup, spinach and rice. My husband loves Japanese rice because of its QQ texture. The Miso soup taste good and the Spinach was very healthy, less oil.

This Sashimi Moriawasi is our favourite. Very fresh, big chunk and melt in your mouth sashimi, it is a must to order sashimi whenever we eat Jap Food.

Ebi tempura, my husband favourite :

Sake for two :

We did not order much as I was not really hungry but we enjoyed the food and have a pleasant evening together. The bill was about RM100.

WEDDING DINNER AT WESTIN HOTEL

My cousin sister's daughter held her wedding dinner in a ballroom at Westin Hotel Kuala Lumpur. All of us were invited but I did not bring my two children, that's what my husband and I usually do if it is a highly formal dinner.

I was only able to take a few photos as I was too shy to click click the camera!!! Surprisingly I found the food served was very delicious, very fusion, very big portion. That is not we usually have, eating a wedding dinner at a hotel.

Quite enjoying ourselves...good food and good wine and sort of like family get together and wedding at the same time.

LI JIN CHINESE RESTAURANT AT PAVILLION, KL

My husband has got a free treat from his client cum friend who opens this Chinese restaurant in Pavillion in KL. So, all of us went to have a dinner there and actually this is our fourth time eating there.

The Boss, Mr.Lim recommended this flower tea, I find it to light for me especially after a heavy Chinese meal, I prefer some strong tea to go with oily meals.

This is Mantis Prawn, each one one big fresh and juicy prawn cooked with garlic and chili and pepper salt, very delicious.

This is Kong Po Duck, the skin was made Peking Duck ( sorry , too hungry forgot to snap photo...hehehe), two dishes very nice.

Stir fry Broccolli and Scallops

Overall, this is a satisfying meal and we will defintely come back to this restaurant again. Thank you Mr. Lim for buying us this dinner.
